We were there last night and had a great meal. My mother is exceedingly picky and nearly always sends back her meal because it does not come blazing hot or for some other reason. Not last night. She had the lamb chops and raved about them. My father had the duck breast and likely said it was perfect. My lemon grass salmon with thai curry sauce was prepared perfectly-salmon was cooked exactly as it should be-slightly crispy on top, moist and tender inside and the sauce was slightly spicy with loads of flavor. My sons’ ribeye steak was excellent too. Same with everyone else’s meal. Waiter handled my mother perfectly, with humor and respect. Would heartily recommend the restaurant (and by the way I am a pretty accomplished cook myself so I am pretty critical).
After having our marriage ceremony at the courthouse, we decided to have our wedding party dinner here. The service was wonderful, the drinks were delicious and the dishes were amazing! So thankful to the staff for their attention to us and over the top service. It definitely made our day that much more special.
We dined al fresco with the fam, perfect if you have a stroller and a toddler. We had the Paella and Flat Iron Steak …service was great overall!
Opal is our go to late night takeout! The soups are always innovative and fresh, salads are too. We love the herb crusted filet mignon, the duck breast, and the wild mushroom stuffed chicken! This is an excellent place for dinner if you are going to a show at the Arlington or Granada Theaters.
What a pleasant surprise! We were spending the night in SB and looking for a nice dinner on a Monday night. We didn’t have reservations and after a scouting a few places on State St., we landed on Opal. We were seated promptly and warmly greeted by our server Dania. We ordered the crab cakes to start and the lamb chops and mushroom risotto for entrees. All dishes were delicious and the entrees gave generous portions. Our server was fantastic with offering recommendations, attentive and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. The ambiance was pleasant and not too loud for us to carry on our conversation. Price was appropriate for the quality and experience. Overall an A+!
Such a nice place for dinner and it is always outstanding. But, my tip is to come here for their lunches. Outstanding pizza, sandwiches, and salads. My favorite is the prime rib french tip. It truly melts in your mouth. Wish the horseradish had a little more kick but the au jus is really good. Lunch pricing is also economical. Why pay $10 for a burrito when you can get their pizza or the prime rib sandwhich for about $12?
